Commission an Original Oil Painting

Commissioning an oil painting is a wonderful way to create something personal and meaningful, whether it’s a portrait, a landscape, or a special place you’d like to capture. I occasionally accept commissions depending on my schedule and the details of the project. If you’re interested, I’d love to hear your ideas and discuss how we can bring them to life.

How It Works

1. Get in Touch
If you’re interested in commissioning a painting, reach out to discuss your ideas. We can chat via email or arrange a visit to my studio in Cabinteely, Dublin, where you can see my work in person.

2. Choosing a Subject & Size
We’ll decide on the subject, composition, and size that best suits your vision and space. Whether it’s a portrait, landscape, or another scene, I’ll guide you in selecting the best approach.

3. Photo References
For portraits, I prefer multiple photo references to choose the best composition, lighting, and expression. For landscapes, images taken in different lighting conditions are helpful in capturing the atmosphere.

4. Deposit & Timeline

A 50% deposit is required to secure your commission. Once received, I’ll begin the painting, keeping you updated throughout the process. Completion time varies depending on size and complexity.

5. Final Review & Delivery
Before the painting is finished, you’ll have the opportunity to review it. Small refinements can be made if needed. Once the final payment is received, your painting will be ready for pickup or delivery.
