Irish landscape paintings are at the heart of my work. I paint scenes across Dublin, the west coast, and the Irish countryside, always focusing on light, atmosphere, and a sense of calm. My paintings are rooted in real places — coastal paths in Dublin, quiet corners of Castlegregory, soft evenings in the Dingle Peninsula — and each piece is a way of paying attention to the beauty that’s already around us.

Plein Air & Studio Landscape Paintings
Many of my landscape paintings are created plein air — painted entirely on location, responding directly to the changing Irish light and weather. Working outdoors brings a sense of immediacy: clouds moving across water, sudden brightness breaking through, and colours shifting moment to moment.
I also create studio landscape paintings from carefully chosen reference photos. These allow for a slower, more considered approach, while still staying true to the atmosphere of the place.

Castlegregory is a deeply meaningful place to me — it’s where I first began painting outdoors, and many of my most atmospheric pieces come from moments spent there. These Irish landscape paintings often have a quiet, expansive feel: pale beaches, shifting skies, and soft evening colour.
